Why SASH?

Since 2009, SASH (Special Alcohol Service in Hospitality) has helped venues reduce incidents, boost revenue, and create better staff–guest experiences. It focuses on preventing problems early by combining simple, practical techniques with real-world scenarios.

Course Breakdown

SASH is built around two core frameworks:

  • MAW: Mood, Assist, Water — proactive guest management.
  • SMILE: Socialise, Manage, Identify, Leave it, Enjoy — work guideline.

In the BASICS course, these are applied to one key scenario: Save from Intox – Early intervention to stop patrons reaching intoxication.

Course Format

  • 9 short sections with videos, quizzes, and optional exercises.
  • Total time: ~30–45 minutes (complete at your own pace).
  • Certificate of Completion provided.
  • The BASICS course is designed as a faster, streamlined option, while the FULL course expands the same theory across all 10 real-world scenarios for the best results.
  • We recommend the FULL course for best results, as it applies the theory across all 10 scenarios.
