Why SASH?

SASH gives your team a simple, practical system for managing guests from the moment they arrive — preventing problems before they form, keeping groups together, and making Ask-to-Leaves rare. Built on fifteen years of real-world venue experience and supported by a Deakin University pilot trial at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney.

Course Breakdown

SASH is built around two core frameworks:

  • MAW: Mood, Assist, Water — proactive guest management.
  • SMILE: Socialise, Manage, Identify, Leave it, Enjoy — work guideline.

In the BASICS course, these are applied to two key scenarios: Save from Intox – Early intervention to stop patrons reaching intoxication, and On the Job - Applying MAW and SMILE during everyday service.

Course Format

  • 10 short sections with videos and quizzes.
  • Total time: ~35–50 minutes (complete at your own pace).
  • Certificate of Completion provided.
